Bruce Betler grew up in Helvetia with an interest in Swiss folk dancing, singing, fiddling, and cheese making. He graduated from Pickens School, studied at Saint Vincent College, Pennsylvania, and earned a graduate degree in theology from Catholic University, Washington. He is a diploma candidate in analytical psychology at the C. G. Jung Institute of Zurich, Switzerland, and a Benedictine monk of St. Ottilien Archabbey in Germany.
