Kenneth C. Martis earned a Ph.D. in geography from The University of Michigan and joined the faculty at WVU in 1975. He has authored six books on American elections and politics. In 1986 he won WVU’s first Benedum Distinguished Scholar award and in 2007 was the U.S./West Virginia Professor of the Year.
