e-WV: The West Virginia Encyclopedia Online

Anna Egan Smucker is the author of children’s books, including No Star Nights based on her Weirton childhood, and Golden Delicious: A Cinderella Apple Story about the discovery of the Golden Delicious apple in Clay County. She also wrote A History of West Virginia, a book for adult new readers published by the West Virginia Humanities Council, and has published many poems. She holds a B.A. from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and an M.A. from Michigan State University.
