Michael Caplinger of WVU was an industrial archeologist at the university’s Institute for the History of Technology & Industrial Archaeology. He prepared the National Historic Landmark nomination for the Martinsburg Roundhouse, and helped to research the Thurmond C&O depot for the National Park Service.
