Mariwyn McClain Smith, educated at Davis & Elkins College, was editor and co-publisher of the Parsons Advocate from 1971 to 2004 when she and her husband sold the newspaper. George and Mariwyn’s son, Ken, now operate McClain Printing Company in Parsons, the publisher of thousands of West Virginia titles.
