Warren J. Woomer, a Charleston chemical engineer and industry historian, was senior principal engineer at Union Carbide’s Institute plant. He was the works manager at Bhopal, India, 1980–82, and a member of the company’s investigation team after the 1984 Bhopal tragedy. Warren continued to operate the chemical industry consulting firm he started in 1990. Warren died January 21, 2018.
